Can’t Stand the rain is a music video directed by Colin Duffy for the awesome upcoming band The Rescues.
A pretty wild two-day shoot with some amazing dancing choreography and great stuff coming together. Use of fog and VFX were musts. We had a teeeeeeeny lighting package (1 ton and a couple other lights), but we made do well! Both days were scheduled to have rain (which is insanely rare in LA, but we WANTED it!). When it was raining, we were indoors. Oh well, c’est la vie. I added some rain in post, as well as some other fun little effects including a decent amount of grain to the image to degrade RED’s pristine smoothness.
After principal photography was finished, Brian Barrow shot the beautiful pickups with the band and the opening/closing segments. I love that guy.
